Dr. Aidyl Gonzalez-Serricchio is a distinguished scientist and author with a Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics and Developmental Biology from the renowned California Institute of Technology. Specializing in environmental microbiology and astrobiology, she explores the extremes of microbial life, studying microbiomes from Earth’s Arctic regions to lava tube caves in the Azores. Her research focuses on the adaptability of microbial life and nematodes in extraterrestrial conditions.

Aidyl’s work transcends the laboratory as she leads innovative citizen science initiatives and serves as the Director of Outreach at the International Institute of Astronautical Sciences. Recently, Aidyl authored the children's book ""Gigi & Nema: Guardians of the Soil.""
