Empowering the Next Generation for the Space Economy: The Role of Digital Media
Exploring how digital media, including podcasts and short-form videos, empower students and the public for the space economy.
As humanity enters a new era of exploration and development, it is essential to empower both students and the general public with the knowledge and skills required for the evolving space economy. Digital media—especially podcasts and short-form videos—offers accessible and engaging education beyond traditional classrooms. These platforms serve as powerful tools for connecting learners with professionals and educators who can translate complex space science concepts into clear and exciting, digestible chunks. Drawing from my experience as a space science educator, scriptwriter, podcast host, and curriculum designer, I will demonstrate how digital media fosters curiosity, critical thinking, and student ownership in learning. Attendees will gain practical strategies for using digital media to inspire and equip the next generation for space exploration's challenges and opportunities.
