Space Ethics

An examination of the ethical implications of space exploration and development.

J. N. “Nick” Nielsen is an independent scholar who studies philosophy and emergent complexity, especially as the latter relates to civilization and its future in the context of big history. He has spoken about the future of civilization at several conferences (100YSS, Icarus Interstellar, SSoCIA), and attended the 2014 IBHA conference in San Rafael, the July 2019 IBHA event in Milan, where he spoke on “Peer Complexity during the Stelliferous Era,” and the 2022 NoRCEL event in St. Andrews, where he spoke on “Toward Universal Biology: An Observational Scientific Research Program in Origins of Life.”
