Sara Alvarado is the Executive Director of Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). Her passion for the space industry encouraged her to apply for the National Treasurer position in SEDS in 2020, consecutively becoming the Chair in 2021 and Executive Director in 2022. Through SEDS, Sara has been able to connect thousands of students to extraordinary opportunities of professional and technical development. Sara holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of South Florida, and a B.S. and M.S. in Industrial Engineering from the University of Central Florida.

The mission of SEDS is to enrich student readiness by providing education about the space community, and architect opportunities to pursue excellence through technical, professional, and personal development, while bridging them to a stellar network. SEDS envisions the cultivation of excellence, passion, and inclusion in the next-gen space workforce.
